Taiwan bound in 2 weeks!

In a little over 2 weeks we will head to Taiwan again to get our daughter and Landon's new sister. We are so excited and half of the fun has been witnessing Landon's idea of his sister. Telling people in line at the grocery store that he has a sister in Taiwan and we are going in a big airplane to get her. They look at him rather strangely and I just laugh as I try to figure out what they actually think that means. As we think about the journey we are all about to endure and the emotions that our daughter, her foster parents, her birth mom, and ourselves will all feel, we can't disregard the fact that our son will also be having huge emotions. He will be learning to share a mother and father he has come to love and think of his "own". He will learn to share every bit of attention, things, house, dogs, car, and life. On top of that he will go through emotions of love/hate towards his new sister. but more importantly he will witness what we did a year ago to add him to our family. The trip we took, the pictures we made, the suitcases we packed, the plane we flew, the excitement we shared. He will witness the miracle of adoption from both sides within his life. How amazing is this. He will also return to his birth country for the first time since his adoption was finale in 2006, where he left ill and confused and without goodbyes. Now he has lost most of the language and the orphanage has moved. The kids that he knew have all since went home to be with their new families. Some of the caretakers have also left with all the changes of SLC. How a year ago he endured such a change and how he came through it amazingly , gives us all the faith that his personality can and will brave this one with as much strength. It will form part of him. Though I think he will remember some things from this trip sine his memory is so great, I believe that somewhere he will keep the emotion that this trip will make. That it will shape him in some way and that when he is an adult I only hope that he feels it was the best decision we could have made for him and our family. We have carefully thought out our decision to bring Landon with us to Taiwan and though it feels as though there was never any doubt, it was well thought and with his best interest at heart. At the same token we feel that our daughter will benefit from entering our family as it is and not starting as just a family of 3 and then adding a child once we get home. We do not feel that would be best for her or Landon. Many more thoughts went into this as well that are pretty personal so I will not share but did want everyone to know that we are very excited for Landon to journey back to Taiwan, witness the adoption process end for his new sister, and our family as we become 4! The real journey will begin and our family will be complete. We hope to all move forward healing, bonding, and loving one another as a family. We can't even imagine what a great little brother Landon will be. He loves older kids so much and his face lights up when he sees pictures of Ti. He asks to show his sissy to people even when i tell him they have already seen her. He says "ohhhh, so cute". Wonder how much mommy has said that? :) He is an amazingly affectionate and loving little boy and we know that he will be so sweet to Ti as well. We are not naive to the fact that there will definitely be lessons learned and battles beet. There are sure to be power struggles and me firsts. We can't wait! Landon is a little brother!

We head to Taiwan October 30th and arrive in Taiwan on November 1st. We will visit SLC on Friday. WOW! We pick up Liberti on Monday and head home later that week. Join our Journey to Ti at

Landon is so sweet! It's fun how excited he is about getting a new big sister! I'm sure you're right and there will be struggles during the adjustment, but I'm looking forward to following your family's story as you grow from a family of 3 to a family of 4!
