Landon's first surgery...

We had Landon's surgery, circumcision, on November 21's. It was much harder than we had anticipated and was a full on surgery. He had the surgery in the morning at our local hospital. We had to be there at 6am and he was out of surgery at 8:30am. He didnt do so well with the anastesia unfortunetly. His temp kept rising and his blood pressured stayed around 138/69. That is very high for a child apparently. We were in a room until about 5:30 that evening when he could finaly be awake, somewhat alert, taking in fluids, urinateing, and eating a small bit. The pain was horrible and we cried we he cried as his body shook and he would sweat. It was horible. For the rest of that night and the following day he did nothing but cry and lay on the couch, something he would never do for more than a minute. It was hard to witness. By the second night, after family arrived for Thanksgiving, he began to sit propped up on the couch and talk to people a little. On Thanksgiving day he was able to stand up for short periods of time and sit. That night he began to take a few steps very carefully and then walking slowly the next day. By Tuesday he was walking close to normal, off his pain medication and playing. Pretty much back to normal. The Dr said he should not have any more issues or infections now. We are happy to have it all over with and so happy that our little man is doing much better now.
